Rick Hurst is in his twentieth year of education. For the past eight years he has taught Biology and P.E. at Eastside High School in Covington, Ga. where he also serves as the Head Football Coach and Associate Athletic Director. A native of Trenton, Ga., Hurst attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he obtained his B. S. in Exercise Science and Leisure Studies while playing football for the Mocs. He currently holds a Masters in Education with a focus on Integrating Technology into the Classroom from Walden University, and he is pursuing his Educational Specialists degree in Instructional Technology from The University of West Georgia. Hurst considers himself as a sports fanatic but favors football, soccer, baseball and golf. His hobbies include staying in shape, working in the yard, and traveling. He is the proud father of two children Ryan, age 11 and Aidyn, age 5. He and his wife Velika will celebrate 17 years of marriage in June 2013.
